Sublimation transfer is a dry image reproduction process using dye crystals, which, under heat and pressure, convert from a solid to a gas, without entering the liquid phase. The process differs from all other printing methods in that the transferred image, as a gas, is deposited into the substrate molecules rather than onto the surface.

TGI new technology has made possible graphics which;

1. Take on all the physical, thermal and chemical properties of the substrate.

2. Have all the colors deposited into the substrate in one pass, perfectly registered, completely dry and ready for further fabrication or shipment;

3. Provide a very durable image since the graphic is imbedded into the resin

4. Offer four color process images that are lithographic in quality and detail at one very reasonable price. There is no extra cost for complicated graphics or graphics utilizing many different colors or shades;

5. Eliminate the cost of after-production decoration; and

6. Allow a customer to eliminate or better utilize space which is currently wasted on silk screening, the waste and problems associated with scrap and the disposal of toxic inks and solvents; and

7. Because our dyes are sublimated into the molecular structure of the substrate, they are safer for humans, particularly children, in that they are difficult to scrape off and will, in normal usage and under normal conditions, not sublimated out of the substrate.

TGI provides several printing options utilizing sublimation printing. These options include, but not limited to;

In Mold Decoration
Graphics produced through sublimation transfer can now be applied to shaped and highly contoured injection molded parts.

The graphics can be applied to the product during the injection molding process without colors migrating, ghosting or fading. There is almost no limit to the actual graphics that can be used, up to and including photographs. This technique can be used with a variety of engineered plastic resins such as abs, nylon, polypropylene and polystyrene.

Thermoformed Printing
TGI can now sublimation print on specialty plastics and then use a propriety thermoforming process to a very wide array of products.

Direct Printing
Sheet plastics, metal, canvass, ceramic, wood and composites can be sublimation printed using the methods developed and perfected by TGI

Tubular Printing
Extruded aluminum, steel and composite lacrosse sticks, hockey sticks and golf shafts have been enhanced through sublimation printing at the TGI facility.

These parts are coated with a polymer coating, which takes on the graphics of your choice, as well as hold up to the beating that is present in their environment.
